The Lágymányos (also known as Bet Sálom) synagogue has been operating in the 11th district of Budapest since 1949, in Károli Gáspár Square, where the community moved after the closure of the Bocskai Street synagogue. The first president of the new synagogue was Hugó Szepesi. In 2004, with the arrival of Rabbi Zoltán Radnóti, a new life began. In 2011, the synagogue had to be expanded because the community had outgrown the old space. The Beit Shalom synagogue is the most active community in Budapest.
